Lets refuse to grow up !

Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional. We become adults because we have no other option. Things change and they change us as well. Childhood is a wonderful phase but by the time we realize this, it becomes a memory.
We the kids of 90s have enjoyed some childhood pleasures that have become history now. My most treasured memory is of the summer vacations at my grandparent’s place! Unlike today the “garmi ki chutti” was not meant for hobby classes and summer workshops but cycle ride through the town, hand full of mangoes, hide and seek, moholla cricket, roohafsa evenings and watching cartoons. Those were the days of Disney, The Arabian night, Ariel the mermaid.
But whatever maybe the era, “childhood days” is something that everyone cherishes. I give you a chance to relive some of those memories with me. Hope you enjoy it.

Plan some plans !

We make plans. Most of them just turn out to be things written in ink on tiny bits of papers kept and forgotten in some old books while the other lucky ones are those that are executed. Making plans is easy, making good plans is difficult and making plans that will actually work is arduous. Still we make plans because that is how we do the least we can do to decide what our tomorrow would be like. We plan because random ramblings do not necessary may take us to our destination, we have to map a way to land up there and most importantly we plan because planning is free of cost. We take utmost care in making those plans because they are supposed to give us what we want but sadly destiny batters our plans. This does not happen because our plan was wrong but because some times what we want is not what we need. The funny thing about destiny is that it does not take in account our plans. It’s painful how our plans slip out of our fists however hard we try to hold them. They fail.
Life is what happens while we were busy making other plans. Life moves on and drags us along with it. However badly we try to stick to a today, it becomes a yesterday in less than twenty four hours. Sooner or later what we got to do is turn our back to the failures and make another plan to be happy. And hey, why worry when you can always switch to plan B.

An old write up ! A beautiful memory !

One day while flipping back the book of memories
I'll come across a picture like this
and I'll stop !!
A fresh blood will be pumped into the veins of a dormant life
the giggles , the chuckles will fill the silence of surrounding
Vivid and Vital !!
The baggage of loneliness will seem lighter
all of the sudden..
I'll smile into nothingness..
peeping back to those smiles, those amazing days, those awsum people
the glimpses of that warm love will fill the voids
And however hard I'll try to avert..
a tear will trickle down to complete my smile !!

Take your time !

The only better healer than time is more time !!
There are times we feel bad about the things that had happened and our mind is filled up by somber shades and sunlit patches of memories and remains of what once appeared to be a perfect semblance of  everything true and right . To some extent we are successful in pushing away the past but the fact remains that anyone who has ever touched our life has left their fingerprints on the sands which will need the tides of time to wash them off. For every time when we felt that the everything just fell apart we kept a record but why did we not notice the tiny little reasons of happiness scattered all around us in the smiling flower or the color of sunset. The problem arises when we do not realize that we are more blessed than suffered and this is why we fail to find the most sought after "peace of mind".
There is no defined period you may need to shun the past and move on. It will take time or maybe the entire life time but it starts right when you really decide to pluck away the hanging dewdrops to memoirs. We try to desiccate the part of  our mind which still remembers the conversations and that togetherness  and eventually it happens. That was a false place where you did not belong, you thought the world is all good but Wake up Alice, it was just a wonderland !
